We spent a good deal of time third quarter working on research writing. First we learned about the life cycle of a frog. We took notes about our learning through words and pictures. Next, we used the internet to research some of our favorite animals. Then we wrote good paragraphs about them. Students loved having the responsibility of choosing the animal they wanted to learn more about. They discovered many interesting facts and learned how good writers organize their information along the way.
